Frequently Asked Questions
Do you do residential, commercial and townhomes?

Yes. Click here for residential. Here for commercial. Here for townhomes.

Do I need to be home?

You don’t have to be, but you should be. Things can go faster when you are home. If there is a problem with a circuit breaker or getting access to water, it can go much faster if you are available. At a minimum, you should be there when we arrive, get set up and start removing ice. Once these things are going smoothly, it is up to you whether you stay around or not. One benefit of being home is that you can monitor the progress and you can see how hard our technician will work to remove your ice.

How do I pay for your service?

We require a debit or credit card to be on file. If you prefer to pay by check, you will need to hand the check to the technician at the end of the service or else we will use the card on file. Extra large jobs may require incremental payments.

How do you bill?

From the time we arrive until the time we leave. Click here for details.

Are heat cables a good idea?

Every year we remove ice dams that are embedded with heat cables. They may be your solution. They’re not the first choice. Click here to learn how to prevent ice dams. This page talks about heat cables.

How do I know if I need my ice dams removed?

Not all ice dams will lead to damage. Click here to learn what to look for.

What can I do to keep the bill as low as possible?

Be ready for our arrival. We bill from the time we arrive until the time we leave. Make sure we have a convenient and accessible place to park our vehicle. We need access to an outside water spigot and electricity. Make sure your water is turned on from the inside. We have the equipment to thaw your spigot. We also need a 15 amp electrical outlet. Be sure to point us to an outlet where the circuit isn’t being used for something else, like a hair blower or iron, to avoid any power interruptions.

Should I roof rake my roof?
